✍️ Writing Practice Workbook

10 prompts from A1 to B1 — write your answer, then reveal a model one.

💡 Before You Start: Writing Tips

RULE 1: Start SMALL
Don't write essays at first — 1-2 sentences daily, gradually longer.
RULE 2: Use Grammar You KNOW
Present tense first; add past tense in later exercises.
RULE 3: Focus on MEANING
Communication beats perfection — Polish speakers will understand.
RULE 4: Use Your VOCABULARY
Use words you already know rather than reaching for new ones.
RULE 5: CHECK YOUR WORK
Read it back aloud and check your verb endings.

🚫 Common Writing Mistakes & Fixes

Gender agreement in past tense
❌ Ja szedłem do domu (if you're female) / Ja szła do domu (if male)
✅ SZEDŁEM is male, SZŁAM is female — verbs must match the speaker's gender.
Wrong case after a verb
❌ Widzę kot (nominative, wrong)
✅ Widzę kota / Mam kota — "widzę" (I see) and "mam" (I have) both take the accusative case, which for this word matches the genitive: kota.
Forgetting to conjugate verbs
❌ Ja go, ty go, on go
✅ Ja idę, ty idziesz, on idzie — verbs change for every person.
