The oral exam is separate from the written part and has its own threshold. Three kinds of practice: read aloud, perform a discourse function, then speak at length.
Speech recognition isn't available in this browser. Read-aloud and function scoring need it — Chrome, Edge and Safari support it; Firefox does not. The prompts tab works regardless, and every task still has model audio you can listen to and imitate.
Listen to the model, then say the sentence yourself. Scored on how much of the target your speech matched — aim for 80% or better.

The standard names these functions explicitly — managing a conversation, conceding, referring back. Say something that performs the function; several phrasings are accepted.
Exam-style prompts. Speak for two minutes without stopping. This can't be auto-scored — record yourself, or speak to a partner, and check against what a marker looks for.
